Following a slew of teasers released earlier this month, a new full-length Resident Evil trailer has given fans additional insight into the upcoming Netflix series.
The latest trailer, which debuted during Netflix’s Geeked Week event, gives viewers a better idea of what to expect as Ella Balinska’s Jade navigates zombie-infested towns and labs while battling with a range of horrifying animals.
Jade Wesker battles for survival in a world overrun by blood-thirsty infected and deranged monsters in the year 2036, 14 years after a terrible virus triggered a global apocalypse, according to the synopsis. “Jade is tormented by her background in New Raccoon City, by her father’s eerie ties to the Umbrella Corporation, but most of all by what happened to her sister, Billie,” says the author.
Andrew Dabb, the executive producer of Supernatural, is writing, executive producing, and showrunning the live-action Resident Evil series. It’ll be set in two timeframes with the same protagonist, according to reports. Albert Wesker, the ruthless head of Umbrella Corporation, is played by Lance Reddick, who previously starred in John Wick.
Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Tamara Smart (A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting), Siena Agudong (No Good Nick), Paola Nuez (Bad Boys for Life), Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, and Turlough Convery round out the supporting cast.
Mary Leah Sutton also wrote and executive produced the eight-episode series, with Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben serving as executive producers. The project is produced by Constantin Film, the studio behind the blockbuster film franchise, with CEO Martin Moszkowicz also producing.
