George Asakura’s manga series Dance Dance Danseur is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by him. Since September 2015, it has been serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Big Comic Spirits. In April 2022, MAPPA debuted an anime television series adaptation on the Super Animeism programming block.
Junpei Murao used to dislike ballet, but after witnessing a guy execute it, he is enthralled by the art form. Junpei’s father dies in a horrific accident, prompting him to abandon dancing to be “masculine.” However, a new transfer student called Miyako Godai arrives one day, reigniting his passion for ballet.

Shogakukan has divided its chapters into the separate tanks on volumes. On February 12, 2016, the first volume was released. Twenty-three volumes have been published as of March 30, 2022.
Dance Danseur will be adapted into an anime television series in April 2021, according to reports. Yoshimi Narita wrote the series’ screenplay, Hitomi Hasegawa designed the characters, and Michiru composed the soundtrack. The series is produced by MAPPA and directed by Munehisa Sakai. It premiered on MBS, TBS, and other networks on April 9, 2022, as part of the Super Animism block. Yuki’s “Narihibiku Kagiri” serves as the opening theme, while Hitorie’s “Kaze, Hana” serves as the closing theme.
In Japan, Disney+ obtained exclusive streaming rights to the series from Star. Outside of Asia, Crunchyroll has licensed the series. From May 13, 2022, Medialink licensed the series in Southeast Asia and began streaming it exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, as well as Disney+ in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. At the 23rd Japan Media Arts Festival in 2020, Dance Dance Danseur was one of the Jury Recommended Works.
