What is the solution to the Google Meet sound echo issue?

Many people utilize Google Meet, an online meeting application. It is one of the most commonly utilized online meeting clients in our daily lives. It’s simple to use, has fascinating features, and can be accessed from any device without having to download anything. You can use Gmeet in both the Gmail app and the web browser without sacrificing capabilities.

However, if you’ve ever had an echo problem, you should read this article because we’ll show you how to fix the Google Meet sound echo issue.

So you don’t have to worry about any echo difficulties in your G-meetings any longer; simply follow the procedures below to eliminate any echo from your meetings:

Make sure you’re not making an echo.

One of Google Meet’s best features is that it delivers a pop-up notification whenever an echo is detected during a meeting. If you get that pop-up, you can click Get help here to troubleshoot the problem. It offers three suggestions for getting rid of echo on your end.

  • Put on your headphones.
  • Reduce the volume of your speakers.
  • When you’re not speaking, turn off your microphone.

If you follow these guidelines, you should be able to get rid of the majority of the echo on your end.

Sit in a well-insulated room.

The amount of echo and background noise can be reduced by sitting in a well-isolated environment. Also, attempt to hold meetings in a space with sound-absorbing materials like rugs, mats, carpets, and thick curtains. Soft fabrics, such as blankets and rugs, can absorb sound to a certain level. Additionally, you must ensure that you are not directly facing a wall when attending the meeting since this will reflect your voice and cause an echo that you do not want.

How to Use a Microphone Properly

Most people are unaware of where their device’s microphone is located, so they either block the MIC on their phone or stay too far away from the MIC on their laptop, resulting in an echo. Mics are typically located at the bottom of phones and on the top bezel of computers when attending meetings by phone.

As a result, make sure you’re not too far away from them because an echo will result. You should also utilize an external mic if you have one, or any ordinary pair of earbuds if you don’t have one. On most occasions, external microphones/earphones are preferable to onboard microphones.

When you’re not speaking, turn off your microphone.

If you are not the main speaker in the meeting, it is recommended that you remain silent until it is your turn to speak. By turning off your microphone, you will reduce the amount of echo and eliminate the excess noise from your end.
