This week, an amazing science fiction story is going to be available on Prime Video.
The Peripheral, a live-action version of William Gibson‘s novel of the same name, will be made available on the streaming service beginning on Friday, October 21. Flynne Fisher, played by Chloe Grace Moretz of Kick-Ass, and Burton, played by Jack Reynor of Midsommar, will be the main protagonists of the series.
Moretz and Reynor are joined by Gary Carr (The Deuce), Eli Goree (One Night in Miami), Louis Herthum (Westworld), JJ Feild (TURN: Washington’s Spies), T’Nia Miller (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Charlotte Riley (Peaky Blinders), Alexandra Billings (The Conners), Adeline Horan (The Deuce), Alex Hernandez (UnReal), Katie Leung (Chi (Alt).
About The Show ‘The Peripheral’
According to the summary, Flynne Fisher resides in an area of the American South and works at a 3D printing business, he also tries to have earning much-needed additional cash by playing VR games for rich people. When she puts on a headset one night, she suddenly finds herself in a futuristic London, a city that is slick, secretive, and completely unlike her own poor rural reality.
Flynne starts to understand that it’s not virtual reality. 70 years into the future, someone in London has managed to unlock a portal to Flynne’s realm. London is not just hazardous, but it is also incredibly alluring. Her presence here unleashes evil powers who are out to get Flynne and her family in her home world as she investigates who connected both worlds and for what reason.
Scott B. Smith, who also acts as the executive producer and showrunner, wrote the adaptation for the television series. Along with Steven Hoban, Athena Wickham of Kilter Films, and Vincenzo Natalie, the Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are executives producing.
