Universal Pictures has announced that Jordan Peele’s Nope would be exclusively available just on the Peacock streaming service shortly.
Peele’s neo-western horror film Nope will be released by Peacock on November 18. Furthermore, Peacock will see the release of a brand-new documentary about the film’s production, featuring the cast and crew as well as behind-the-scenes footage.
This is not the first time the documentary project has been brought to the attention of the public. When Universal Pictures announced the Nope Collector’s Edition, they also hinted at the release of Shadows: The Starting to make of Nope, which will not be included in the upcoming DVD release. It was defined as a 56-minute backstage documentary delving into Peele’s filmmaking process and vision for the film. It will also allegedly respond to some of the questions that viewers may have about the movie and its bizarre world.
Nope is indeed the third movie created by Peele, for whom the directorial debut, Get Out, needs to continue to collect a wider range from critics and audiences. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and received two Lifetime Achievement nominations. The American Film Academy named it one of the top ten films of 2017. Nope received positive reviews but was not as well received by critics. Notwithstanding this, the movie was a box-office success, grossing $171 million against with a $68 million budget.
Where Could Nope Go?
Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, and Brandon Perea star in Nope. It follows two ranch owners who enlist the assistance of a tech salesman and a notorious documentarian to obtain video proof of an unknown flying object.
Peele previously hinted at a Nope sequel film but has yet to confirm any plans. Peele responded to a question about such a mystery character who didn’t yet make it to the end by saying, “People are doing a great deal of interesting detective work… I can tell you that the tale of that character remains to be told. Which is another way of saying, “I’m glad that people are paying attention.” “We’re isn’t over telling each of these stories,” he added.
The Nope Collector’s Edition is now available digitally and will be released on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and DVD on October 25.
