There has been a lot of speculation about the next Grand Theft Auto game, but it seems like we will have to wait until at least 2028 for this one. According to IGN reports from back in 2020 when development was still underway and further ones saying that there’s around 3-5 years worth left before the release date – so not too long!
While we don’t know any more about the game itself, Rockstar has said that they’re still “working on it”. Reports from previous days say this next installment could be smaller than GTA 5 with updates used as a way to build up an evolving experience for players. Other sources claim Vice City will return as well and some fans even think there might have been first screenshots hidden within their remastered version of ‘GTA III’.
Last year, Rockstar patented an innovative system for NPC navigation that is designed to make roads more alive with traffic behavior- which could be useful in any future GTA games. The patent includes techniques and designs on how game developers can use this tech as part of their multiplayer network gaming community!
