Fans of Selena Gomez, get ready: a new album is on the way.
Abraham Quintanilla, the late Selena Quintanilla-father, Perez claims a new Selena record will be released next month, nearly three decades after her untimely death.
Quintanilla told Latin Groove News that the album, which is being produced by Warner Music, will have 13 songs and that Selena’s brother, A.B. Quintanilla, worked on it.
“What surprises me and Suzette, my family, A.B., is that 26 years later, the public still remembers Selena; they haven’t let go of her,” Quintanilla added, referring to Selena’s sister, Suzette. “They’ve been waiting for something like this to come out, and I think the public will enjoy it.”

Selena recorded the first song on the new album when she was just 13 years old. According to her father, Selena’s brother was able to digitally update her voice to sound exactly like she did before her death in 1995.

The freshly released tracks are all from the library of the family’s record label, Q Productions.
“My son worked on Selena’s voice with computers, and if you listen to it, she sounds as she did immediately before she died,” he claimed.
Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, will also be involved in the upcoming album since she is helping to design the artwork that will accompany it.
NPR reached out to Warner Music Group for comment but did not receive a response right away.
The Tejano singer’s terrible death at the age of 23 will be commemorated on March 31 for the 27th time.
Selena, a Corpus Christi, Texas native, was a Grammy Award-winning Tejano sensation who was shot and killed at a motel by the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldivar, after Selena’s father accused Saldivar of embezzling monies from Selena’s fan club and her Selena Etc. stores.
Selena’s influence and songs continue to have an impact on people of all ages throughout the world.
Two years after her death, Warner Bros. released a blockbuster film based on her life and career, starring Jennifer Lopez as Selena. In 2020, Netflix aired the series Selena: The Series, which told the narrative of her family’s hardships on their road to stardom.
Selena received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2021 Grammys, alongside Salt-N-Pepa, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and Marilyn Horne.
