Storyline:
So Cold The River is a screen adaption of the same-name novel written by Michael Koryta, The New York Bestselling author. Paul Shoulberg has written and directed the film. This film is produced with an insane amount of money. So Cold The River is one of the most expensive films that is ever made in Indiana states.
This film revolves around a fiction documentary filmmaker Erica Shaw(Bethany Joy Lenz) who gets appointed by Alyssa Bradford-Cohen(Alysia Reiner) to document her dying father-in-law Campbell Bradford who is a millionaire.
Erica is offered a huge amount of money to document his life in a local town where once he dominated. She is given an antique bottle filled with local spring water, and a few clues connecting Campbell’s life to the town.
Erica visits the town and stays in a local hotel. While staying there she meets Josiah(Andrew J. West), the hotel staff. He is a descendent relative of Bareford. To know about more Campbell, Erica starts seducing Joshua in a cheap way.
On the other hand, she meets unofficial town historian Anne Mckinney(Deanna Dunagan) and a fanatical intern Kellyn(Katie Sharife). They start helping Erica and they become good friends. Meanwhile, Josiah reveals to Erica the family curse of mysterious deaths and suicide.
Erica starts experiencing horrifying visions after drinking from the bottle.

So Cold The River movie concept is nothing new. Some movies are already made with similar concepts. Though its cinematography is awesome and the set design captures your attention throughout the film.
Its gothic scenes look kinda realistic to watch and the movie is capable of giving you chills and also a good horror experience. However, the characters of the films don’t develop as the film progresses and the sound quality of this film can be irritating for some viewers. While watching the film, the story may seem nonsensible to you.
Though it is a good horror/thriller movie. If you are someone who is a big fan of this genre then you can watch it. It is perfect for entertainment. The film is rated R and the length is one hour and thirty-minute. The movie is 60% fresh as per the Rotten Tomatoes review.
