Walker Scobell, star of The Adam Project, will portray Percy Jackson in Disney+’s new Percy Jackson series, an adaptation of Rick Riordan’s book series, after months of rumor.
Walker Scobell, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has been cast as Percy Jackson in the upcoming film adaptation of The Odyssey. Percy Jackson and the Olympians were given a series order by Disney+ in January.
Scobell, a 12-year-old kid, discovers that he is a demigod in the series. When Zeus, the sky god, accuses him of stealing his master’s lightning bolt, he’s still coming to grips with his newfound magical abilities. For the sake of Olympus, Percy must go throughout the United States in search of it.
Disney’s 20th Television is gearing up to begin production on its new show this summer. “Walker Scobell is an exceptionally brilliant young guy who blew us away with his audition recordings for the role of Percy,” said Rick Riordan, an executive producer of the show, on his website on Monday.
We just learned about Walker’s talents when we saw him in The Adam Project, where he played Ryan Reynolds’ younger self and wowed the audience with his performance.
Although we had the good fortune of interviewing Walker months before the release of the film, we were able to corroborate what we already know. Walker had the appropriate blend of comic timing, sweetness, rebelliousness, sarcasm, and heroism to portray our hero Percy Jackson, and it was evident to me and the rest of the crew.”
A year ago, Riordan revealed that Percy Jackson was being developed by Disney and that it had earned a final green light. “Percy Jackson is a clever and kind youngster with a sharp sense of humor,” according to Disney+’s official character summary for the character.
The world’s perception of his ADHD and dyslexia has made him feel like an outcast his whole life. As a result of his temperament, he might be impetuous and rowdy. Despite his pessimism, he is a loving son and friend who only wants to do what is right for the people he loves for. What he needs is to find a place where he can be himself.
With Jon Steinberg and James Bobin, Riordan will write the pilot episode of the series. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, together with Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. All five books in the Percy Jackson series, are The Lightning Thief, Sea of Monsters, Titanic curse, Battle of Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian.
The Adam Project, starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, and Catherine Keener, was Walker Scobell’s cinematic debut. On August 5, he’ll appear in Paramount’s family action film Secret Headquarters alongside Owen Wilson, Michael Pea, and Jesse Williams.
