SONIC HEDGEHOG’S GOOBER PREVIEW: THE ROBOTNIK AGENT is Getting a Release Date?

Sonic the Hedgehog accomplished what appeared unthinkable for a long time in the world of video games: it managed to make a terrific movie while also appeasing fans of the game. Though it got off to a shaky start (we all remember the original Sonic design with teeth), it quickly recovered, and while it isn’t entirely faithful to the game in terms of narrative, Sonic’s heart and the entire supporting cast make it feel like a genuine attempt to capture the joy of the games rather than a cash-in on the franchise’s name.

However, considerable artistic licence has been exercised. Agent Stone, for example, is a brand-new character created specifically for the film. Lee Majdoub, who plays Stone, spoke with TheGamer about the film, which you can read about in our entire interview, which will be published tomorrow. For the time being, though, we’re concentrating on the most significant issues. Majdoub has read and enjoyed your homosexual fanfiction.

Initially, according to Majdoub, Stone was only there for Robotnik to talk to, as a method for him to explain his plan and bounce lines off of, but as the actors and director collaborated, it turned into something more. “It all started with a strong admiration for Robotnik,” Majdoub explains. “It evolved into this element of care, and then it evolved.” Fans are now shipping the two characters, which I find fascinating. Fans have asked me what I think of [their relationship] and whether or not it’s real, and I can’t say whether or not it’s real. But I can say that I enjoy it and enjoy seeing people’s inventiveness. And as long as it stays positive, I’m all for it. It’s interesting to see how that was blended into the second film with these small hints. I was simply ecstatic for the fans.

“There’s got to be something to these two, because of the amount of abuse that they go through to stay together, there’s got to be something to it!” “Jim [Carrey, who plays Robotnik] said something funny in an interview, ‘there’s got to be something to these two, because of the amount of abuse that they go through to stay together, there’s got to be something to it!”

Stone opens a coffee shop in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and creates latte art out of Robotnik, as well as a portrait of Robotnik and himself surrounded by coffee foam love hearts. Although the idea of Stone producing lattes was included in the original script, it was Majdoub’s own research that led to the creation of the now-iconic drink. He laughs, “I went on Reddit and searched for the most pretentious coffee orders.” “We added that aspect after a barista mentioned that someone had requested a latte with Austrian goat milk.”

Part of the reason Stone has won fans’ hearts, according to Majdoub, is that he isn’t a bad guy, even if he is the bad guy. He says, “I think he’s pleasant, which is hard to come by.” “In a way, it’s this appealing, likeable part of a big-hearted villain.” He has no idea he’s a bad guy. What I like about Sonic 2 is that you get to see a side of him that isn’t Robotnik, and how he interacts with other characters, which I think is fantastic.”

Agent Stone and the rest of the Sonic cast can be seen in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which is currently in theatres. Steamed Austrian goat milk lattes are available for purchase individually.
