Emperor Shaddam IV will be played by Christopher Walken in Dune: Part Two, the all-star sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar-winning version of the Frank Herbert science fiction classic.
Dune Part One is officially out in cinemas and on HBO Max, but the cliffhanger conclusion has fans eagerly anticipating the sequel.
While it took Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. a few days after Part One’s premiere to make things official, Dune Part Two was revealed on Oct. 26. In October 2023, the sequel will be released in theaters.
The Legendary film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem, among others, with Florence Pugh and Austin Butler among the newbies.

The sequel’s announcement was not entirely unexpected. Director Denis Villeneuve has expressed optimism about the possibility of a sequel before it was even confirmed. Meanwhile, when Deadline contacted WarnerMedia’s Ann Sarnoff about Part Two, she remarked, “Will we get a sequel to Dune? You can see how the movie finishes if you watch it. “I believe you already know the answer to it.”
Princess Irulan, the emperor’s daughter, is played by Pugh, and Feyd-Rautha, the clever nephew of the baron who heads House Harkonnen and is being groomed to dominate Arrakis, is played by Butler.
Villeneuve will helm the film, which will begin shooting this summer in Budapest. He also collaborated with Jon Spaihts on the script.
Mary Parent, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter, and Tanya Lapointe are producing the film.
