In a Recent Interview, Director James Gunn Acknowledged That There Are Problems With His First Marvel Post-credits Sequence?

The Infinity Stones are six of the most well-known weapons in all of pop culture, and they are found in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The iconic artefacts were built up over a decade of films, culminating in Avengers: Endgame, one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the age.

Ironically, one of the worst films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (at least according to Rotten Tomatoes and fans) played a significant role in bringing the Infinity Saga to a close with the usage of the Stones.

Thor: The Dark World is the title of the film in dispute. The Reality Stone was introduced as a significant McGuffin in the narrative of the second Chris Hemsworth movie.

The villain was beaten by the end of the narrative, and the Reality Stone was imprisoned in a portable gadget. The Collector then became the owner of the formidable weapon, as seen in the post-credits sequence.

The sequence in question was directed by James Gunn, the director of The Guardians of the Galaxy, rather than Alan Taylor, the filmmaker of Dark World, who was not a fan of the tag back in 2013.

Now, Gunn has spoken out on Twitter, admitting that the sequence does have some issues.

Alan Taylor, the director of Thor: The Dark World, spoke out against the film’s post-credits scene, which was directed by James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Taylor, when asked about the scene when the movie first came out, said, “I had nothing to do with [directing it]. I’m relieved that I won’t be held accountable.”

Gunn claimed that “Alan apologised to [him] directly for those statements” in response to a fan’s tweet about Taylor’s less-than-supportive sentiments, but conceded that the scene “was generally sort of rushed:”

There have been plenty of similarly hasty post-credits sequences in the past. Thanos taking a gold Gauntlet at the conclusion of Avengers: Age of Ultron is a classic illustration of this—something that still makes no sense. Marvel Studios is undoubtedly hoping that the majority of viewers have forgotten about it.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which will air on Disney+ later this year, will be Gunn’s next Marvel Studios project, followed by Vol. 3 on May 5, 2023.
