With increasingly involved combat systems and a clever strategy, there seems to be a lot of fun among all the blood, mice, and tears.

Requiem begins six months after the events of Innocence when siblings Amicia and Hugo seek to put the horrors of their first 14th-century voyage to France behind them. Wherever they go, however, problems follow. And in this world, problems are equal to rats. Despite wanting to win in the final match, everything is wrong with Hugo. He has not completely overcome the illness that afflicts his family, so a trip to southeastern France is waiting to find a cure.

If the original Plague Tale focused on losing the purity of de Rune children, the sequel is about dealing with the guilt that comes with their actions. The demise of each enemy soldier (and there were a few in the short section I played) that comes between Amicia and her intentions worries her deeply. She is often seen crouching on the floor with her head in her hands, asking why this nightmare happened to them. This is not very different from the way she reacted to the murder in the first game, but in this case, there are a lot of values ​​in Amicia that have a great range of emotions expressed – that is, anger.

During my time with Requiem, anger overcame Amicia, showing her a completely different way than we had ever seen before. It was an unprecedented demonstration of pure violence in A Plague Tale, but what kept it alive was a complete lack of remorse for Amicia, who roared as each rock was heard in the air.

Thankfully, one death is no longer brought to Amicia except in certain circumstances (except when playing in solid mode), which allows you to tolerate minor damage before taking cover and healing. When you get too close to the enemy you sometimes have the option to deal with it. And now it seems very easy to re-install if your cover is broken by breaking the viewing lines and getting tall grass – another advantage of large stadium sizes.
