Season 2 of Power Book Iii: Raising Kanan Is on the Way, Watch It on the Theaters in Couple of Months.

Season 2 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan is on the way, and it is a comfort to know when it’ll be back on the air! If you missed it earlier this week, the prequel is due to hit theatres on August 14, and we’re sure there will be plenty of other sneak peeks along the way.

The third installment of the Power Universe chronicles the genesis tale of 50 Cent’s character Kanan Stark and his descent into crime via his drug queenpin mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas, in the early 1990s. Mike Curtis, a former Disney kid, plays Kanan, while Tony Award winner Patina Miller plays Raq. Jukebox, Kanan’s cousin and close confidante, is played by Hailey Kilgore.

Tensions will rise in Season 2 as Raq wins control of the city’s drug scene, but loses her emotional grasp on Kanan due to Detective Howard’s (Omar Epps) lingering secret, as seen in the teaser.

The third book in the franchise, written by Sascha Penn and directed by Courtney Kemp, takes viewers back to the 1990s and the formative days of the now-deceased Kanan Stark, who was played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in Courtney Kemp’s original series.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a vast family story set in Queens’ South Jamaica neighborhood that centers around the awakening of Kanan Stark, Ghost and Tommy’s mentor, partner, and adversary, who dies in a hail of bullets in the eighth episode of Power’s penultimate season.

“One season isn’t enough to tell Kanan Stark’s coming-of-age tale with his mother, Raq, a feisty and powerful lady who is a force of nature,” Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said. “With the worldwide demand for more of the Power Universe, it was evident that the Kanan tale needed to be continued.”

The third installment of the Power universe is Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The series covers Kanan Stark’s introduction into the criminal world in the 1990s and serves as an origin narrative for the fan-favorite character. Viewers watch Kanan as his mother, the vicious boss of her family’s drug organization, introduces him to a life of crime. Melanie Curtis plays Kanan, while Tony Award winner Patina Miller plays Raquel “Raq” Thomas, the matriarch of the family.

We’ve seen how Kanan’s narrative finished in Power, and now we’ll learn how it started. Season 1 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan offered us a lot of insight into Kanan’s life. There are a bunch of reasons to enjoy watching Season 2 with so many issues left unresolved at the end of a scary Season 1 finale. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Courtney A. Kemp will continue to executive produce alongside Sascha Penn as creator and showrunner.
