Additional Cast Revealed for Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre

This former Monday, the sanctioned website for Junji Ito Maniac Japanese Tales of the Macabre revealed that four new voice actors have joined the cast.

The cast as a part of the anime’s adaption of “ The Strange Hikizuri Siblings The Seance ” are taken by Ayaka Asai, Tomoko Kaneda Hajime Iijima, and Risa Shimizu.

They will join Romi Park and Takahiro Sakurai, two preliminarily revealed cast members, venting Kiko and Kazuya Hikizuri, independently.

The story will be one of 20 Junji Ito stories being amped for the first time and released on Netflix in 2023.

While the former adaption of Junji Ito’s work, The Junji Ito Collection, failed to impress observers, the time after its release saw a rise in Junji Ito wares, from manga filling store shelves to the exclusive merch collection revealed at Crunchyroll Expo 2019.

With further Junji Ito wares available now than when the former series was released, it’s easy to imagine Junji will have further suckers tuning in this time around.

Hopefully, further details will be revealed in the coming months regarding the other stories in the forthcoming series, including those from Tomie.

Ito’s Uzumaki manga is also inspiring a separate forthcoming anime adaption.

The four- occasion mini- series will premiere on Toonami. The anime was firstly slated to debut on Toonami in 2020 before it premiered in Japan, but the anime was delayed to 2021.

It was again delayed to October 2022, and also delayed again in June to an as-yet determined date.
