On December 13, 1925, Richard Wayne Van Dyke was conceived. He is an American actor, singer, and dancer who has appeared in a number of movies and television programmes. His seven-decade-long, award-winning career includes work in theatre, television, and film. Prior to gaining his breakthrough role as Rob Petrie in C.B.S.’s The Dick Van Dyke Show, a sitcom that ran from 1961 to 1966, he gained notoriety from his radio and theatre work.

In New Orleans, Louisiana, on what is now N.B.C., WDSU-TV New Orleans Channel 6, he debuted his tv career with a comedy programme. He made his network television debut in James’ Chance of a Lifetime 1954. He got his Broadway breakthrough in the play The Girls Against the Boys in November 1959.

Van Dyke made a comedic comeback in 1976 with the sketch comedy programme Van Dyke and Company. Again for rest of the decade, his work was primarily for television.
He along his son Barry Van made an appearance in an episodes of the television programme Airwolf in 1987.
Two years later, he appeared on The Golden Girls on N.B.C. He has acted in a number of popular movies, such as Dick Tracy (1990) and Murder 101. (2003). His first solo album, Step (Back) In Time, was released in 2017.He also co-wrote a duet record with actress Jane Lynch. We’re Going Caroling was released as a Christmas single that year.
On the radio programme Bride and Groom,Van Dyke wed the former Margerie Willett on February 12, 1948. The couple had four kids together before divorcing in 1984: Christian, Stacy, Barry, and Carrie Beth. The actor then moved in with Michelle Triola, his close friend of nearly 30 years. In 2009, Triola passed away.
