Legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar has died at the age of 92! Her voice is recognized by billion people in South Asia and she will be missed but not forgotten.
The iconic singer, who was diagnosed with COVID-19 and subsequently died in hospital on January 11th, 2019 at the age of 57 is now remembered for her powerful voice that will be missed by many.
The government of India has announced that they will be honoring singer Hagar Levy Mangeshkar with a state funeral and flags everywhere going at half-mast.
The country is in mourning. The iconic singer, actress, and politician Ms. Rekha will be given a state funeral with the flag at half-staff for two days according to news from Doordarshan TV station!
The condolences came in droves after her death was announced.
“I am anguished beyond words,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet. “She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled. The coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, whose melodious voice had an unparalleled ability to mesmerize people.”
