Unfortunately! Astronomers just lost Three Exoplanets. Let’s find out why

In a recent study by Astronomical Journal, scientists have found out the three exoplanets are stars. These exoplanets are- Kepler- 854b, Kepler-840b, and Kepler- 699b. These Kepler exoplanets were discovered by NASA’S Kepler telescope.

As per current research, these Keplers are little stars in space. The fourth Exoplanets is also is in research mode. Astronomers think it can also be a star. But they are not confirmed about it yet.

What are Exoplanets:

As per NASA, Exoplanets are small planets that orbit in space. However, these exoplanets are beyond our solar system. Till now, NASA has these exoplanets are small regions in Our Milky Way Galaxy. Through, Kepler Telescope NASA has discovered that there are more small planets in the galaxy compared to stars.

These exoplanets are made of different components. Some are made of ice and others are made of water. The first exoplanet was discovered in the 1990s.

Astronomers’ research regarding the exoplanets:

Till now, Scientists have discovered 5000 exoplanets. But after the research, the three exoplanets are rejected. NASA’S Kepler Telescope closed its space search in 2018. Some exoplanets are bigger than Jupiter in size. That’s why they think these Kaplers can’t be a planet.

The team used the planet-star measurement technique to measure the size of these planets. With new and steller technology, they found out that three objects known as Kepler-854b, Kepler-840b, and Kepler-699b are triple the size of Jupiter.

That’s why they are sure that these three are stars, not planets. They are still not confirmed about Kepler-747b status as it is very far from our planet and it receives light from its star in a very small amount. So they are suspecting it.

Nirula, the head of the research, MIT institute explained, ” Overall this study makes the list of plants more complete. People rely on the list to study the population of the palates as a whole. ”

The team thinks if the list of the plants is not accurate, people will not be able to study properly. That’s why it’s very important to learn about these objects rightly. During the study, they got a signal from Kepler-854b that was huge; they knew immediately that can’t be a planet.

Then they observed the signal properly and learned that it’s an ellipsoidal signal. So that’s how they found ut this is a star. After that, they started second looking at Kepler objects. After long research, they concluded that three among the Kepler region are stars, NASA’S Kepler Telescope found about these objects that’s why the region is named after that.

Moreover, astronomers spotted a periodic dip in the starlight that indicated a planet is passing the star. Thereafter, the depth of that dip shows the ratio between the planet size and the star size. That’s how the calculated the potential planet size.
