Google Is Giving Away a Free Titan Security Key to Select Google One Subscribers

What you should be aware of a limited number of Google One subscribers will receive a free Titan Security Key courtesy of Google.
You must be a resident of the United States and subscribe to the Premium tier of Google One.

Subscribers that meet the requirements can pick between the USB-C and USB-A Security Keys.

When you live in a world where breaches and password leaks are commonplace, it is more crucial than ever to maintain your accounts as secure as possible. There are certain precautions you can take, such as utilizing a password manager, but the most effective approach to keep your account safe is to enable two-factor authentication whenever possible, if it is available.

A new deal for select Google One customers has also been launched by Google to make things a little bit simpler for them.

Towards the end of 2021, Google released their most recent Titan Security Key, which is actually comprised of two distinct versions.

There’s also a USB-C model that can be plugged directly into any USB-C port on your device and has a fingerprint reader for added authentication security. A fingerprint scanner is included in the other model, which relies on USB-A ports rather than USB-C, allowing you to use it with devices that don’t have a USB-C port.

This week, Google launched an offer that allows select Google One users to receive one of these keys for free. The campaign was announced in a stealthy manner. You’ll need to be a subscriber to one of the Google One Premium tiers, which start at 2TB of storage and are priced at $9.99 per month, or $99.99 per year, to take advantage of this feature.

Additional benefits include 10 percent off Google Store purchases, access to the Google One VPN app for Android or iOS, and “Extra Member Benefits” such as this campaign, among other things.

If you’re debating whether or not you absolutely need a hardware two-factor authentication key, we strongly advise you to go with this option rather than another means of authentication.

It’s true that using a 2FA solution such as the Titan Security Key is the most inconvenient, but it’s significantly more secure than depending on SMS messages or even Google’s push-based prompts.

Under normal circumstances, the Titan Security Key with USB-C costs $35, whereas the Titan Security Key with USB-A costs $30.

In the unfortunate event that you are not eligible for the promotion, you will not be able to obtain these products anyplace else. However, if you’re searching for a simple way to keep your Google account safe, head over to the Google One perks page and follow the on-screen instructions to get your Security Key right away.
