Daredevil and Spider-Man lost their Kingpin, Fisk, Is DEAD!?

Warning! Marvel Comics’ Devil’s Reign #6 contains spoilers.

Wilson Fisk’s reign as Kingpin has come to an unexpected conclusion, as he recently transferred the torch to his son Butch. In Marvel Comics’ Devil’s Reign #6, Kingpin decides to bequeath his throne to his son Butch, explaining that it is his inheritance after many years. Wilson Fisk, however, appears to be stepping away from his life as a supervillain, as the comic concludes with him boarding a boat and receiving an unusually happy ending.

In the recently finished Devil’s Reign event, Kingpin went for power like he’s never gone before. The mayor of New York put together his own Thunderbolts squad to take down Marvel’s greatest heroes, employing the Purple Man to mind-control them against one another. After bringing down Mike Murdock, Matt’s brother, Fisk thought he’d finally slain Daredevil for good, but he’s defeated and sent to prison after discovering he didn’t receive his ultimate victory. But, unlike many other supervillains before him, Kingpin is granted a new job in the Marvel Universe instead of going to prison.

In X-Men Red #1, Storm Debuts Her Iconic New Costume

The crime family, the Stromwyns, greet a still bloodied Kingpin in the big conclusion of Devil’s Reign by Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, Marcio Menyz, and VC’s Clayton Cowles, who give his son Butch total amnesty in New York as long as he maintains crime high in regions they plan to buy up. The Stromwyns indicate that they still want Fisk to run for President, claiming that as a free man, Kingpin will work for them. Kingpin, on the other hand, rejects their offer and murders the Stromwyns because he refuses to make a bargain with the devil and serve someone else. Fisk, on the other hand, informs Butch that because he wasn’t there for him, he can offer him something better: his position as Kingpin.

Wilson Fisk tells his son Butch that he may tell others in the streets that he murdered his father and resurrected him from the grave to seize what is rightfully his. He has a “story befitting a king” as the new Kingpin, as he will command respect for killing his father. Kingpin sails out into the sunlight with Typhoid Mary after leaving his son in an emotional state, obtaining a surprise happy ending beside his greatest love.

Wilson Fisk appears to have put his criminal past behind him for the time being, therefore Butch Fisk is the new Kingpin in the Marvel Universe. Kingpin, on the other hand, provided his kid with the ideal (though fictitious) backstory to take over his role. Will Butch, as the new Kingpin, be as harsh as his father? More information will be revealed later, as Devil’s Reign #6 from Marvel Comics is currently available in stores.
