The actor is completely transformed in this fantastic first official look at Sebastian Stan in the upcoming A24 thriller A Different Man.
Fans were shocked when the actor shared the first-look snapshot on Instagram. According to Variety, Stan portrays a neurofibromatosis patient who has facial reconstruction surgery and later develops an obsession with the actor playing him in a play based on his life. Adam Pearson from Under the Skin and Renate Reinsve from The Worst Person in the World co-star with Stan.
In a photo that Sebastian Stan posted online, the actor’s on-screen persona, Edward, is hardly recognizable. In the picture, the actor’s face is disfigured thanks to prosthetics that are almost entirely covering him. The actor simply stated that prosthetics designer Mike Marino, who also worked on Colin Farrell’s transition into the Penguin for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, did “amazing work.””
In 2022, Sebastian Stan underwent two times as many modifications.
The MCU alum received an Emmy nod for his performance as Tommy Lee in the Hulu limited series “Pam and Tommy,” and now Stan has fully committed to his forthcoming part in “A Different Man” from A24.
Stan posted an Instagram picture of himself as Edward, a character in a play based on his life who had facial reconstruction surgery and develops a crush on the actor playing him. Stan simply stated in the caption that prosthetics expert Mike Marino, who was previously responsible for Colin Farrell’s metamorphosis into the Penguin for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” did “amazing work.”
Aaron Schimberg, who also wrote and directed “A Different Man,” is an executive producer for Stan. Renate Reinsve, a breakout star of “The Worst Person in the World,” and Adam Pearson, a veteran of “Under the Skin,” both appear in the movie. Under New York City, “A Different Man” is now in production.
In addition to A24, “A Different Man” is produced by Jason Reif, Vanessa McDonnell of Grand Motel Films, and Gabriel Mayers and Christine Vachon of Killer Films.
Stan’s performance as Edward in the next movie, according to “Fresh” director Mimi Cave, was “amazing.” Along with Julianne Moore, Justice Smith, and John Lithgow, Stan also stars in and directs the A24 comedy-thriller “Sharper,” which is slated for an AppleTV+ release.
