My Name Is John Walker. I’m Anticipating the Return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier villain are set to return, according to a Marvel star.

Wyatt Russell is unconcerned about making friends with the audience. The character follows his journey from hero to semi-villain. So it’s no surprise that Russell was open about the potential of never seeing John Walker in the MCU again in a new interview with Vanity Fair. This is odd given that Julia Louis-Contessa Dreyfus’s Valentina Allegra de Fontaine gave him a black outfit and dubbed him the U.S. Agent in the season finale.Add this PostWyatt Russell, who plays John Walker, has claimed that he is unaware of any current plans to bring his character back but that he is more than willing to return whenever the call comes.

“I enjoy portraying the character, and my time working with Marvel was a fantastic working experience and collaborative, working with Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Kari Skogland,” Russell told The Hollywood Reporter.

“They have incredible teams, which is why they produce amazing results.” So, whenever I have the chance or learn about the possibility to reprise a character or work for Marvel again, I’m ecstatic because the people are incredible. So, hopefully, I’ll get another chance to do it. We’ll have to wait and see.

We don’t know much about the MCU version of Valentina or her goals right now, but studio producer Nate Moore previously stated that they’re approaching her as a satirical take on Nick Fury, telling Marvel.com: “Whenever we talked about Valentina, even in the writer’s room, she was sort of a more acerbic, funnier, but darker Nick Fury.”

Add this PostThe introduction of the US Agent in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier divided fans who were unfamiliar with the character from the original Marvel comics. Russell had stated that his anti-hero role was not meant to take the place of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America. However, as the series progressed with Walker’s dark turn, fans began to praise Russell for his portrayal of a soldier jaded by duty and revenge.

Russell sought advice from his superstar father, Kurt Russell, before accepting the role of Walker, as the senior Russell had previously played Ego in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. “I approached it like a regular character and didn’t put too much pressure on the character.”

Russell’s John Walker was introduced as the new Captain America in the MCU not long after Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) decided not to carry Steve Rogers’ shield. Walker followed Wilson and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in their pursuit of the Flag-Smashers, but his violent attack on a Flag-Smasher after the death of his friend Battlestar results in him losing his Captain America title and being quietly recruited to an unknown group by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

“They have incredible teams, which is why they achieve so much. So, whenever I get or hear about the opportunity to reprise a character or work for Marvel again, it’s very exciting because the people are wonderful. So hopefully I’ll get the chance to do it again. We’ll see what happens.
