Just in time for Halloween, a Metroid fan has shared their incredible Jack-o-Lantern Samus power suit art, offering a novel take on the Nintendo hero.
In celebration of Halloween, a Metroid fan has created incredible fan art depicting a Jack-o-Lantern Samus in a spooky black, orange, and green suit. One Metroid fan’s interpretation of a Halloween-themed power suit is a darker look at Samus, despite the fact that Metroid Dread took the series in a scarier direction.
Fans of Metroid are accustomed to seeing Samus in a blue and red, orange and red, or pale white power suit from various upgrades in Metroid games over the years; however, a new piece of fan art takes a different approach. Recently, Reddit user XxgreencookiesxX shared their impressive Jack-o-Lantern Samus fan art, which features the Metroid hero standing next to a power suit inspired by Halloween.
The power suit depicted in this fan art is more like the one that appeared in the original Metroid and was later added to the Super Smash Bros. games, as opposed to Samus’ Metroid Dread power suit.
Samus Aran is depicted in XxgreencookiesxX wearing a pink and grey zero suit and standing next to the Jack-o-Lantern power suit, which has attracted the attention of numerous Metroid fans. Her blonde hair is pulled back.
On either side of a helmet, two large Jack-o-Lantern shoulders smile, and the air tubes, which serve an important purpose, appear at the base of the carved pumpkin head. The creation of XxgreencookiesxX is significantly darker than the original Metroid power suit, and its arm cannon is just as Halloween-themed as the upper half of the fan art.
XxgreencookiesxX’s Halloween creation has a small Jack-o-Lantern with an open mouth near the tip of the cannon instead of the expected futuristic Metroid arm cannon that has been a staple of many games in the franchise. This could give the impression that the carved pumpkin is breathing missiles and beams when it is being used.
Although the Jack-o-Lantern version of Samus Aran’s power armor in XxgreencookiesxX replaces the helmet with one that looks amazing and is illuminated, the developers did not specify whether this changes the Nintendo hero’s visibility. Even though Metroid gives Samus a wide range of power suits, Nintendo hasn’t made a seasonal suit that looks like XxgreencookiesxX’s Jack-o-Lantern armor yet.
Many Metroid fans have expressed their appreciation for the fan art by XxgreencookiesxX, which depicts Samus in a Jack-o-Lantern power suit. One fan even suggested that Samus should morph into a “cumbersome” pumpkin when the morph ball is activated. While most Metroid players were impressed by XxgreencookiesxX’s Jack-o-Lantern design, some Reddit users were also impressed by the impressive Samus zero suit design.
