About Carmen Lopez
George Lopez and Angie Lopez gave birth to Carmen. Her parents later recalled that their daughter was a delight to have around the house. Carmen attended a public school up until the point at which she was moved to Allendale Preparatory School because of rumors and lies that her ex-boyfriend spread about having sex with her which earned her the nickname “whore” at the school.
Carmen was expelled from Allendale after just one year because she ran away from home, missed a significant portion of the school year, and committed a wide range of other infractions.
After she was expelled, Angie made the decision to home-school her for a while. However, Carmen got weary of being home-schooled and spending so much time with her mom, so she was sent to St. Theresa’s Catholic School, which was her last remaining choice.
She met Jason McNamara (played by Bryan Fisher), her future on-again, off-again lover, at St. Theresa’s. They were together for the majority of seasons 3 and 4. After learning that Carmen had been sneaking over to Jason’s house to support and aid him when his parents were away, Jason was granted permission by her father to move into her house.
Carmen begged and pleaded with her father to let the two live together, but her father was apprehensive about it. Nevertheless, he gave in and let him reside in their house. In season 5, Jason broke up with her because she was pressuring him to get married and have a family even though he was only sixteen. Carmen was saddened to learn that Jason had abandoned her. Carmen moved to Vermont and started a profession after receiving a college acceptance letter. Carmen is renowned for her poetry, whether it is lyrical and tender or dark and ruthless.
