Orlando Bloom, better known by his stage name Orlando, was born on January 13, 1977, in Canterbury, Kent, England. He is an actor from England.

At first, Bloom believed that his mother’s husband, the anti-apartheid novelist Harry Bloom (1913–1981), who was born in South Africa and died when Bloom was four years old, was his biological father. However, Bloom’s mother told him when he was thirteen that Colin Stone, her partner, and family friend, was actually Bloom’s biological father. After Harry Bloom passed away, Stone, the principal of the Concorde International language school, became Orlando Bloom’s legal guardian.

Photographer Sebastian Copeland is a cousin of Bloom’s through her. Bloom’s mother’s family was of English descent and lived in India, Japan, and Tasmania (Australia). Some of them were originally from Kent.
