Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Walkie Talkie 1S in China. Following the success of the first-generation Mi Walkie Talkie, which was launched in March last year, Xiaomi has launched the second-gen Mi Walkie Talkie, with improvements in every aspect.
The new Walkie Talkie 1S is selling under the Mijia name, which is Xiaomi’s subsidiary. With a price tag of 249 Chinese Yuan, or approximately $35, the Mi Walkie Talkie is an exceptionally cool product. However, it is a very niche product. We are in the golden age of smartphones now and we aren’t sure how the Walkie Talkie 1S is going to phase out in 2018. As of now, the Mi Walkie Talkie 1S is only available in China.
The Xiaomi Mijia Walkie Talkie 1S is improved in all ways from its predecessor. It features strong 3W transmission power which means improved range, a clip at the back for safe-keeping, FM Radio and an all-around sleeker design. It also supports Azimuth sharing. As of 2018, Xiaomi is worth over $18 billion USD. It is one of the top dogs of technology in China, rivaling Huawei. Xiaomi is covering all grounds by making niche products like this along with excellent flagship and budget flagship-killers. Not only this, Xiaomi is also great at listening to the consumer’s feedback. After a mild community backlash on Netflix/Hulu HD support on Mi devices, Xiaomi is going to introduce support for Netflix HD on all Mi devices, including the Pocofone F1 by getting the Widevine L1 DRM.
