The streaming mogul is once again returning to Boyle Heights to explore the lives of three Mexican-American cousins who manage their family’s taco store and care for their aging great-grandfather, Pop in a Los Angeles neighborhood. The show was revived for an eight-episode season last May. This was just three months after season one premiered on Netflix.
The show is built on the premise of a 2017 Sundance Film Festival web series that follows the plight of three cousins Eric, Chris, and Ana Morales as well as their respective dreams, everyday hardships, and relationships and season one left us craving more of this alluring dramedy.

Gentefied Season 2 Release Date
Gentrified Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 10, 2021. According to Netflix, Gentefied Seson2 is expected to span eight episodes with each having a run time half-hour. Binge-watchers buckle up for another wide ride of laughter, drama, and traditional family ideocracy.
Gentefied Season 2 Trailer
The trailer for the upcoming season was unveiled in mid-October and it gives us a glimpse of Pops’ immigration skirmishes. Seconds into the trailer we know that His fate appears to be in the hands of a “tough judge” who means real business. In the meantime, Lupe and Pops flirt, while Ana and Yessika join forces to keep Pops in the country.
The cast of the Gentefied Season 2
Joaqun Coso as Pop, Karrie Martin as Ana, Joseph Julian Soria as Erik, and Carlos Santos as Chris are all returning for Gentefied Season 2.
The upcoming season will feature a slew of new cast members. Joining Gentefied Season 2 in recurring roles are:
- Runaways alum, Clarissa Thibeaux as Bree Solano, a homosexual ad executive who takes his morning coffee with young artists and has romantic feelings for Ana.
- Rambo: Last Blood star, Manuel Uriza plays Ernesto Morales, Pop’s eldest son, who has had a difficult relationship with him since he relocated to Idaho.
- Sneakerheads alum, Ivana Rojas as Sarai Damien, a star and talented chef with a promising career and Chris’s new love interest.
- Orange Is the New Black alum, Melinna Bobadilla as Melinna Barragan, a brave non-profit advocate working on Pop’s immigration case.
Gentefied Season 2 Plot
While the whole Morales family was enjoying the birth of Erik’s daughter, Pop was detained for an unpaid fine related to a vandalism charge that occurred six months earlier. We’ve been told that in season 2, the Morales cousins will encounter new romance, cute babies, and estranged dads as they spar to keep their grandpa in America.
In the pilot episode, we witness Pa thrown behind bars for breaking windows and public urination, and following the release, he never returned to court or paid any penalties for his actions. Towards the conclusion, we again see Pop getting detained by ICE. Although Pops is currently battling deportation, he hasn’t given up on his friendship with Lupe (Alma Martinez).
