Most users tend to use the earbuds in a mode where they can access almost every smart device available around them through their phones. Keeping this in mind, Sony has introduced the new Link Buds, which has its centralized focus on the user’s primary usage of the earbuds.
Although Sony has its technology of converting Bluetooth signal into Hi-Res Audio, these buds are assured not to use this technology. Instead, they would replace audio and fuse it with the live surroundings, which can also be determined as an open design. This particular design is created with the help of the technology named DSEE (Digital sound enhancement engine), which summarises its function as being able to unpack music and technology and restore it to its total capacity. This is why these earbuds will not have any noise cancellation feature or any form of ANC, as they will not be able to perform that function.
Another very significant and cool feature introduced by Sony in the Link Buds would be how the user gives input to the earbuds. Now imagine touching the earbuds and controlling them as per your wish. This is the same feature Sony will be introducing as an input feature because WHY NOT?

The technology behind this can be brought to a crux where the Link Buds will make use of something probably known as the “WIDE AREA TAP,” which will sense your tap near the ear for any and almost every kind of input.
Doesn’t it sound like we already live in the incredible space movies! It seems like a dream come true to me.
Assuming this skin tap feature works perfectly, it would be a trustworthy and vivid replacement for touch controls on the various varieties of earbuds. Other than that, another significant part that Sony has tried specializing in would be considered as the automatic volume control in the pink buds. If this feature sets afoot in the market, this would be beneficial for both the seller and the consumer.
The other feature might predominantly include the Google Fast Pair, allowing for a smooth and seamless set up which can also help locate the earbuds in case you lose them(although it’s a thing not to be lost). Moreover, Google Assistant will also be available as a virtual helper for users wishing to check up on the earbuds.
There are claims that these earbuds can last for as long as 5.5 hours or up to 17.5 hours with the case. All these goods are packed into an excellent new open ring design, which has its price estimated at $179.99, while in Indian currency, it would be available around ₹13, 509.32.
They will hopefully be available for sale on Sony’s official website, pre-order at Amazon, and Best Buy as well. Always stay tuned with GeeksULTD for premium and real-time updates.
