Ahead of its release, Gearbox has provided a few more details on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a spinoff of the Borderlands series that is less than a month away. In the previous month, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands developers have shared additional information about the classes players may choose from and the NPCs they will meet, including barkeeper Izzy.
Izzy has a kind and approachable attitude that is accentuated with a gentle, almost Minnesotan accent. It’s a friendly gesture, but it also acts as an in-game joke. As Senior Writer Sam Winkler put it, “Tina is just running out of accents” for her B&B campaign’s non-playable characters.
In Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, the gameplay and storyline features are similar to those of the Borderlands titles, however, instead of dealing with science fiction, this title will dwell more on the fantasy universe. The plot of this game also occurs in the head of a 13-year-old girl, who is leading this world’s rendition of Dungeons & Dragons.
This implies that instead of revisiting many of the same classic vault hunters, this installment of the long-running saga will have fresh characters and plot elements.
According to an IGN exclusive, Izzy will become one of the most essential characters in the universe of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. He is the bartender as well as the owner of Izzy’s Fizzies. There is no surprise that the soda bar is a “strictly non-alcoholic” place because this universe is based on a girl’s imagination.
In the game, Izzy’s Fizzies will serve as the hub from where players may buy upgrades and make rapid modifications. As the tale progresses, the location appears to grow and alter as well. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has a variety of decorations that may be customized based on a player’s class and their level of achievement. When the players return to Izzy’s Fizzies after finishing an adventure, they may see a mounted head of a monster they killed along the way.
The “ancient obelisk” at Izzy’s bar will also offer additional tasks that are not part of the central storyline. Loot from the main quest and objectives will be divided up after players return to speak with Izzy and the patrons of her soda bar.
