Forza Horizon 3 was hands-down one of the best titles Turn10 has worked on. The studio had a lot going for itself working with Microsoft. The title performed flawlessly throughout the PC and Xbox One. More than a year in, and the landscape for the title has changed drastically. Forza Horizon 3 was one of the major titles to support the Xbox One S’s HDR capabilities and also push Microsoft’s capabilities to the forefront. Now that we have the Xbox One X, the tides for the studio have drastically swayed. The Xbox One X’s 6TFLOPs monstrosity didn’t only claim to bring PC-level 4K gameplay to the mainstream for $499, but also promised to bring a wide-array of titles to keep their enthusiasm high that would cater its audience.
After the excellent native 4K presentation and of Forza Motorsport 7 late last year, the studio has pushed itself to enhance Forza Horizon 3 in its flesh by upgrading its visuals to the next level with Ultra-HD 4K support and support for what Microsoft has in-store with the Xbox One X. Based on graphical analyst, Digital Foundry, Turn10 Studio has made some massive efforts to make the game as polished as it is on PC and to a massive extent it does match upto the graphical quality on the PC. Digital Foundry also noted that the title is running at a native 4K without any help of checkerboard rendering at 30FPS with 4X MSAA on the Xbox One X.
While impressive, it would have been a complete delight to see the title run at 60FPS just as it is on the PC.
