Asus is one of the brands that continue to innovate in consumer computing solutions. Asus recently launched its first 360° flippable ultraportable laptop, the Zenbook UX360CA for Malaysia. The laptop fulfills what we were looking for the Zenbook UX305 which we reviewed here earlier.

01| Beautiful on the outside

The new Asus Zenbook UX360CA features a full 360° flip for those who wanted that beautiful thin design which was unable to be accomplished on the UX305 earlier.

The new Zenbook is made premium being one of the thinnest and lightest laptops on the market at 13,9mm thin while weighing a mere 1.3kg thanks to the featherweight single-sheet aluminum build. To spice things up, Asus has it’s signature concentric pattern on the top of the laptop and has given two color options to choose from, Gold or Grey.

02|The Hardware

As for the internals, the new Zenbook UX306CA runs on Intel’s Core M3-6Y30 (up to Core M7, optional) with Intel’s integrated HD Graphics 515 paired with 4GB of RAM (up to 8GB).

As for the storage options, you could have as low as 128GB M.2 SATA III SSD for the base model and up to 512GB M.2 SATA III SSD if you want to max out on the storage. Asus also claims that their new Zenbook UX360CA could last 12 hours. Oh yeah did we forget to mention it also has a USB 3.1 port?

Earlier this year we reviewed Asus’s Transformer book TP200S, which you could have a look at here, a convertible that switches from a laptop to a tablet. We criticized the Transformer book TP200s for two major design flaws, first the fat bezels, and next, the weight which forced us to use the transformer book in laptop mode. With the Zenbook UX360CA, we expect this issue to be resolved with the addition of the touchscreen to such a laptop.

It’ll also be interesting to see how well the functionality will improve with the addition of a touchscreen. The UX360CA comes with a Full HD 1080p display as the base model with another option to bump up to QHD+ 3200 x 1800 if you are starving for eye candy.
