Cooler Master’s AM4 Brackets Change The Way How I Thought About Their Mounting System

We reviewed the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 last month. We mentioned that the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 needs to ease the process of installing an AIO bracket. However, after the launch of AMD’s Ryzen CPUs. Cooler Master sent us their AM4 brackets along with their MasterLiquid 120. Since then, we thought to update our readers on the subject.

The Cooler Master MasterLiquid series of AIOs perform admirably well. With an understated design and a plethora of features, the MasterLiquid from Cooler Master really holds a unique place in the AIO market.

In our review of the MasterLiquid 240, we mentioned that the MasterLiquid 240 isn’t as easy to install as other AIO coolers. With the launch of AMD’s Ryzen chips and its proprietary mounting mechanism, we found that the AM4 brackets provided by Cooler Master make it a breeze to install their MasterLiquid non-pro AIO Liquid coolers. In fact, easier than AMD’s stock bundled CPU cooler.

How to install the AM4 Bracket

Cooler Master MasterLiquid 120

We were told by Cooler Master that the MasterLiquid brackets are not compatible with their MasterLiquid Pro which is quite unfortunate. However, Cooler Master was also sure to hook us up with their MasterLiquid Pro 280. That’s still another story since Cooler Master is yet to provide us with the mounting bracket for the MasterLiquid Pro 280.

From a scratch perspective, the installation process is very easy. simply install the brackets as you would normally do and latch then CPU block to the motherboard’s latches. Tighten the bolts attached to the bracket and voila! It’s as simple as that!

Now since we are still testing the MasterLiquid 120, we should have our review go live soon. We currently have it hooked upto our Ryzen 7 1700 bench where it’s performing admirably well thanks to its push-pull configuration. For users who want to see how the MasterLiquid 120 performs, we’ll try to get that soon too.

We updated you readers on the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 AIO cooler. We found that the installation process is much easier with the provided AM4 brackets, which was a nice surprise. The cooler itself performs admirably well and we are currently testing the MasterLiquid 120 to provide an in-depth review.

As far as the MasterLiquid Pro 280 goes, we’ll update you guys once we have our hands on its mounting bracket. We are quite sure it will be a much simpler affair than the one we went through with 240’s mounting brackets.
