Power lll: Raising Kanan is an American crime drama television series created by Sascha Penn that premiered on July 18, 2021, on Starz. It’s a prequel and second spin-off to Power.
In July 2021, the series was renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere on August 14, 2022.

Power Book lll: Raising Kanan is the third series in the Power Universe.
Smart, driven, and still naive, Kanan’s world revolves around his mother, Raq (Miller), who raised him by herself. She is his everything. At the same time, he is beginning to get a sense of not only the world around him but his place in said words.
Kanan wants to be just like his mother – and that’s the problem. He’s young and wide-eyed and doesn’t know how the hustle works. And even more important, his mother is not nearly as keen as he is for him to follow in her footsteps. There is a complicated relationship that only gets more problematic as time goes on.

Starz has just released a new teaser trailer announcing the second season of their series Power Book lll: Raising Kanan. The new season will debut on Starz on August 14, 2022.
Power Book lll: Raising Kanan is the third installment of the Powe Universe. The series serves as an origin story for the fan-favorite character, Kanan Stark, and follows his entry into the criminal world in the 1990s. Viewers follow Kanan as he is introduced to a life of crime by his mother, the ruthless head of her family’s drug empire. The series stars MeKai Curtis as Kanan, while Tony Award-winning Patina Miller plays the matriarch, Raquel “Raq” Thomas.
The new season of Power Book lll: Raising Kanan will debut on Starz on August 14, 2022, at 9:00 pm, ET/PT in the US and Canada. The series will also be available to stream weekly on Sundays at midnight on the Starz app and will stream internationally on Starzplay.
