The anime will adapt a number of storylines from the manga over the course of four seasons, or a full year, though not sequentially. To commemorate the 100th birthday of the publisher of the manga, Shogakukan, the anime will air on Fuji TV and other stations during the Noitamina programming block.

The anime will be broadcast with a number of other Japanese stations on Fuji TV’s well-known Noitamina programming block.

A full-page New Year’s greeting advertising in the Sankei Shimbun daily newspaper announced the news of the new series on January 1st, 2022.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time will serve as the inspiration for the main heroine of the anime, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!

The first anime series, created by Kitty Films, ran from 1981 until 1986. Up to the 106th episode, Studio Pierrot handled the animation. Studio Deen took over at that time and continued till the finish of the series.

Mamoru Oshii, a well-known animator (Patlabor 2: The Movie, Ghost in the Shell), oversaw the series’ animation at Pierrot. After the shift to Deen, Kazuo Yamazaki (Mobile Suit Gundam, Maison Ikkou) took over as the series director. A film series lasted from 1983 to 1991, and several OVAs were released from the middle of the 1980s to the beginning of the 1990s.
