The Huawei Mate 20 Pro unboxing has allowed us to confirm the features of the device.  As expected, we get to have our first look at the device in real life apart from the excellent renders of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro reported earlier. However, it doesn’t end there. As slated in initial renders and concept videos, we get to see the shimmering blue color along with the red button accents on the device and the triple camera setup at the rear of the device.

Regarding internals, nothing has been revealed yet. However, we’re pretty sure that Huawei would be packing the Kirin 980 in the Mate 20 Pro with all of its finesse. As detailed in the Kirin 980’s initial revealing, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s SOC, the Kirin 980, would be among the first batch of SoCs featuring the 7nm process. Due to the leaks and reports we’ve seen so far, reports are suggesting that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro would be just as fast as Apple’s new A12 Fusion chip found in Apple’s new iPhone XS and XS Max lineup of devices.

Regarding the triple camera setup at it’s back, we’re definitely hoping to see initial reports reign true to their claims. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s triple camera setup is said to consist of three distinct camera sensors, each carrying their own special abilities. Aside from the main camera, the two other camera sensors on the back of the device would serve users with 5x optically zoomed shots as well as an ultra-wide angle shooter for those who care to dictate their own stories. Regarding megapixel count, you’re looking at a 40MP + 20MP + 8MP array of shooters dedicated for a number of scenario’s, similar to what we’ve seen from the Galaxy A7, Galaxy A9 and even the LG V40 ThinQ lately.

Additional features said to be packed within the Huawei Mate 20 Pro include IP68 water/dust resistance, curved edges as found on the Galaxy S9 and Note 9, wireless charging, and the ability to wirelessly charge Huawei’s fleet of wireless earbuds from the device.

While all of this isn’t going to be cheap, it’s certainly a device that would shake the likes of Samsung and Apple as Huawei nears into their rivalry. And if you think that’s too expensive, you may want to have a look at the Huawei Mate 20 launching alongside the Mate 20 Pro, featuring a waterdrop notch and a flat display.

There’s less than 24 hours to the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s live steam that’s slated to be streamed from London. If you wish to join the live stream, click here to join the live stream or even set a reminder.
