Huawei has had an amazing time ever since they announced the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro completely blew away the competition bringing a ton of fresh air to the industry. As fans await the announcement of the Huawei Honor Magic 2 later this month, a few leaks have stirred up the hype suggesting that Huawei’s Honor division may be partnering with Tesla.
The image leaked on Weibo features a leak black block along with a Tesla logo upfront for that premium appeal. Tesla, like Porsche, is also a car manufacturer. However, Tesla has been catering to a different set of users for the while thanks to its enthusiastic technology for the car industry.
While the image did seem to be a random knockoff, the partnership between Huawei and Tesla is certainly possible, especially given that Huawei has been working with Porsche for the past few years. Since Porsche is occupying the theming for Huawei’s premium segment, Tesla’s partnership for the mid-range market with Huawei’s Honor sub-brand should equally be as incredible.
When the Huawei Magic first launched in 2016, the phone was an absolute phenomenon for its incredible performance and feature set. Thanks to its fairly small 2900mAh battery, the phone was capable of charging up to 90% within 30 mins.
So far, regarding the Honor Magic 2, we’ve managed to pinpoint that the Huawei Honor Magic 2 would debut at Huawei’s keynote set for October the 25th and that Huawei’s Honor Magic 2 would sort of copy Xiaomi’s Mi MiX 3 slide up camera design, as suggested by a teaser video.
If Huawei could mimic the same amount of success here too, it would be absolutely incredible to see Huawei moving in the right direction and showcasing some heat towards Xiaomi’s and OnePlus’s offerings.
Given how aggressive Huawei has been over the past few years, we’re intrigued to see what Huawei brings to the table later this month and if their feature set would actually rival their Mate 20 lineup.
