Amazon has now merged its grocery store ‘Fresh’ and Pantry under one unified store called Amazon Fresh. Over 300 cities in India will have access to the new store. Amazon said in a statement that it will continue to provide customers with unmatched deals, a vast assortment of goods, and fast and simple shipping options all in one place.
The e-commerce behemoth has affirmed that the consumers will get an enhanced shopping experience owing to dedicated grocery app-in-app simple features like personalized widgets and reminders to guarantee that commonly shopped products aren’t neglected during checkout. Users can access Amazon Fresh grocery by clicking on the icon on the site.
According to Siddharth Nambiar, director, category management, Amazon India :
“In February this year, we announced the integration of the Pantry store into Fresh in select cities… Today, we’ve completed the integration of both stores into a single online store called Amazon Fresh across 300-plus cities in India. Customers will continue to enjoy super value savings, a wide selection of products, and convenient delivery options.”
Nambiar suggests that the new launch will deliver all products in a single convenient shipment within 1-3 days, depending on the location of the customer. “This launch has allowed us to simplify the shopping experience for groceries via our dedicated Amazon Fresh app-in-app experience and sets us up to deliver many new features and enhancements in the coming months. Apart from offering great savings, Amazon Fresh will also reduce barriers to grocery shopping online,” Nambiar added.
Amazon has seen that a majority of clients have moved online in the last 18 months. Amazon users from Tier II and Tier III cities make up nearly two-thirds of all purchases and more than eight out of ten new customers. According to Nambiar, their first purchase is usually a supermarket item. “In top cities such as Bhubaneshwar, Patna, and Lucknow, we’ve seen a lot of adoption for online grocery shopping post-pandemic. We will continue to build on our presence and quality of service in these cities to further accelerate new customer adoption,” Nambiar said.
Now orders can be shipped just in a few hours. The new platform was put to the test in Bengaluru in August of this year. Consumers will receive 2-hour delivery slots starting from 6 a.m. to midnight. The customers will also be eligible for free home delivery if the total cost of the purchased products exceeds 600. Deliveries for orders of less than Rs 600 will be subject to a Rs 29 surcharge.
