Razer made it’s first entry into the smartphone market with a bang. The gaming-oriented hardware company dived head-first into the smartphone market after acquiring NextBit. With the launch of the first Razer Phone, Razer stunned the world with the Razer Phone. The first Razer Phone launched with some killer specs and features for the time, including a 120Hz display.
With rumors and leaks regarding the Razer Phone 2 leaking away into the cracks of the internet, it’s about time Razer revealed the Razer Phone 2. Today, the folks over at Droid-Life confirmed that Razer is sending invites to certain media outlets and websites for it’s announcement.
The Razer Phone 2 is expected to pack a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM, up to 512GB of inernal storage as we highlighted here and yet again a notch-less display. Given that early Geekbench scores of the Razer Phone 2 didn’t look as favorable compared to Snapdragon 845 devices, I would be interested to see if that’s actually the case or if they actually worked on it. A few additional features we’re expecting to see in the Razer Phone 2 include that classy 120Hz display, dual front-facing stereo speakers and a much larger battery. While 144Hz may have been sweet and all, 120Hz won’t hurt anyone. Please include a headphone jack this time around Razer…
Regarding pricing, since we aren’t expecting Razer to substantially increase the price of the Razer Phone 2 with this launch. However, for now, we’re going to have to sit back and relax until Razer officially showcases it next month. Oh boy oh boy is October a long month full of new smartphone releases.
