Fortnite Update 6.01 Patch Notes – Adds Chiller & Opens Up Custom Playground Options

The folks over at Fortnite have finally released their first update for Season 6. The latest update, dubbed as 6.01, brings minimal over changes to the table as well as a host of bug fixes for the game. With update 6.01, players should now be able to experience the new Chiller pad and find a host of options to tweak your Playground gameplay experience from the ground up.

The star of this update has to be the new Chiller pads. After removing the bouncepads from the game, the folks over at Epic Games have decided to add a Chiller pad to enable players to freeze their enemies. Similar to many other death traps, the aim of the Chiller is to freeze your opponent into ice before killing them. In addition to that, players wouldn’t find it hard to hunt for these items as the Chiller drops in a stack of three throughout the game. Whether players use this to their advantage in competitive play has to be seen and assessed and rest assured that Epic is monitoring the behavior players to assess if the addition of the Chillers was a worthwhile or now.

Speaking of something worth a while, with update 6.01, Epic Games has made the gameplay experience that much more defined while you swerve through the Playground mode. As this update rolls out, expect to see a few custom options that would help you tweak the game according to your needs. For now, players should be able to tweak the intensity of gravity, time of the day, as well as the starting health. Later down the road, players should be able to see a few more options come down the line. Hopefully, they’ll add an option to enable friends to join a Playground session while it lasts.

Regarding bug fixes or performance improvements, it seems like there’s nothing here with this update. Stay tuned for the content update coming soon.
