Instagram Reveals New “Rage Shake” Feature and Option to Remove Posts

A new “Rage Shake” function has been added by Instagram, allowing users to rattle their smartphones to report issues with the app. In a video posted to Twitter, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri confirmed the addition of the new feature and described how it works.

Putting into the words of CEO Adam Mosseri-“You ever use Instagram and it wasn’t working like it was supposed to? Maybe Stories didn’t load, maybe the audio wasn’t working, maybe you just couldn’t upload a photo and it was just really getting you, really just pissing you off? Now, you can shake the phone and a little option will come up that allows you to report a problem.”

To report an issue, simply shake the app and enter a description of what went wrong. According to Mosseri, this will aid the corporation in prioritizing problems and discovering new issues in the software. However, this new feature is only restricted to android and Ios users in the United States.

Carousel posts with at least 3 videos and images will soon have the option to remove single items as well. For example, a carousel feed post can include up to 10 photographs and videos. You can now take things out from an existing carousel with this latest release. Note that you cannot add, alter, or swap items in the carousel; you can only remove them.

Mosseri claims this new function was long overdue, and that it was one of the most requested features on the platform. According to the social media giant, there are occasions when users realize they have made an error or they no longer want to have a specific image on their grid while also wanting to preserve the overall carousel.

To delete a video or an image from your carousel, select “edit” from the three dots present on the right-hand side of any post. Select “edit” from the three dots present on the right-hand side of any post.to remove an image or video from a carousel. Scroll to the image or picture you wish to erase and hit the “delete” symbol in the upper left corner of the screen. For the time being, the new function is only available on iOS, but Android users should expect it shortly.

During the past few weeks, Instagram has released several new features. Last week, the social media giant put his new Take a Break, into beta testing. According to reports, this feature reminds users to put the phone down and take a break from constant scrolling. Instagram also unveiled a new ‘Add Yours sticker’ that establishes public threads in Stories. Add Yours allows users to respond to other people’s stories with their own.
