Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have about Shiny Pokémon that are poorly designed. Shiny Pokémon are repeatedly heavily sought after due to their inimitability and colorful appeal, but recent games have made them informal to obtain, slightly lowering the rareness factor. Shiny stalking is also a viral post-game activity for much of the community, accentuation the importance of their design. This had completed Scarlet and Violet a bit of a letdown for those who rank Shiny hunting and their designs.
Generation 9 added the maximum number of new Pokémon to the franchise since Generation 5, with that transporting many new Shiny Pokémon. Along with the usual Shiny Charm players can get since completing the Pokèdex, sandwiches could also be made to increase the probability of one showing up.
The increase in multiplayer functions has also amplified trading, which assists players in receiving Shiny Pokémon through regular trading and raising eggs. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s form outbreaks have further assisted in the possibility of Shiny Pokémon spawning, making Gen 9 one of the easiest in the license to Shiny hunt.
The starters of Gen 9 have faced a lot of reproach for their designs, and the Shiny forms are not much improved. Meowscarada and Quaquaval got so few vicissitudes that their Shiny forms are barely different. Meowscarada got its collar different from purple, which is also its most prominent change, whereas some of the colorings were shifted to be igniter than the original.
Quaquaversal got some more clear changes but only became a lighter-colored version of its original form. Antipasti should be some of the best-designed Shiny Pokémon in a generation, but these two, and arguably all three, fail to bring this in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s Shiny Armarouge & Ceruledge Disappoint
The two armor Pokémon of Scarlet besides Violet, Armarouge, and Ceruledge, were first shown off in an early trailer and became prevalent choices for teams. Unfortunately, their Shiny forms can only be labeled as lazy, as the only change is the color of their eyes.
The number of ways these two could have done away with Shiny forms is massive, from completely different colors to a disparity similar to how video game armor adornment works. Another idea, albeit supplementary, could have made these two the first editable Shiny Pokémon. Troupes could have decorated them how they wanted and made respectively one unique.
