OnePlus has officially begun teasing the upcoming OnePlus 7. Following a ton of leaks, over the past week, OnePlus CEO, along with a number of official channels have been teasing the incoming OnePlus 7 series of devices. Following rumors surrounding its keynote date, OnePlus has officially revealed that they would be revealing their OnePlus 7 series of devices on May the 14th.
With the event now confirmed, what’s left to be confirmed is the slew of devices OnePlus devices and specifications that rumors and leaks have been teasing for a while.
Like the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus would be revealing the device in Pier 94, NYC. However, leaks from least week have suggested that the OnePlus 7 keynote would go live simultaneously from NYC, USA and Bangalore, India. And while OnePlus has no mention of Bangalore on their page yet, it seems highly likely given how important the Indian market is for the brand.
As we predicted earlier, OnePlus would most probably be launching the OnePlus 7 5G alongside the “pretty much confirmed” OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. However, in our list of OnePlus 7 speculations that we published shortly after the OnePlus 6T, we also suspected that OnePlus may plan to increase the pricing of their devices even further. And rightfully so given what rumors have been murmuring lately. From the inclusion of a triple-camera setup on the OnePlus 7 Pro on its back to the addition of a 90Hz AMOLED display, the OnePlus 7 Pro would be no small feat.
What would burn the whole event down is if OnePlus begins competing with the iPhone XR and S10e given their price ranges. Given OnePlus’ history, we would suggest that the OnePlus 7 would start at around $650, while the OnePlus 7 Pro would most likely start at $750, leaving it eerily in line with the flagships from both giants across the aisle. However, given the additions, and that our pricing predictions aren’t wrong, the OnePlus 7 Pro at least, should be able to stand out.
This far, OnePlus hasn’t revealed a live stream link. However, we would be updating this piece as soon as OnePlus adds that into the mix. For now, OnePlus has added a link to their site.
