Meghan Markle says she scholarly the realities of royal life from Kate Middleton and then Prince William.
“When Will and Kate derived over and I had met her for the first time, they came over for dinner,” Meghan said in Harry & Meghan, the couple’s new-fangled Netflix docuseries that premiered on Thursday. “I remember I was in frayed jeans and barefoot.”
“Like I was a hugger, continually been a hugger,” she added. “I didn’t realize that that is shaking for a lot of Brits.”
“I guess I’d start to comprehend very quickly that the formality on the outside, carried through on the inside,” she continued near the multiple etiquette rules followed by the royal family, which she mistakenly supposed were only observed in public.
“There is a forward-facing way of existence and then you close the door and you relax now,” she added about how she predictable the etiquette to be left at the door once the work day had finished. “But that formality transmits over on both sides. And that was surprising to me.”

In episode one of the docuseries, Meghan also particulars how life in the royal family led to some tough seconds for both her and Prince Harry.
The series starts with Harry talking to the camera via a self-taken video in the days after he and Meghan officially stepped back from regal life in February 2020.
A flurry of newspaper captions then spread across the screen detailing the couple’s bombshell decision, before Meghan says to the camera from the US.
The first trailer for the docuseries displayed several personal photos of Meghan and Prince Harry, reaching from a never-before-seen snap taken at their wedding welcome to the duo kissing in the kitchen. But the clips also shared some less happy moments, including Harry looking at Meghan as she smears away tears during an interview. Another shot showed Meghan fielding her phone while covering her face with her other pointer.
It’s interesting. My husband has never functioned in this industry before,” she continued, referencing the entertaining business. “For me, having worked on Suits, it’s so astounding to be around so much creative energy and to see how people work composed and share their points of opinion. That’s been fun.”
In her August meeting with The Cut, Meghan was vague when asked if the future show would cover the couple’s love floor.
“What’s so funny is I’m not annoying to be cagey,” she said. “I don’t read any press. So I don’t know what’s confirmed. I will tell you Liz Garbus is unbelievable.”
