Physical game events have been on a constant decline and with them, Ubisoft has come to follow. All thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic pretty much every other event has been called off indefinitely and the rest have moved over to the digital stage. Ubisoft has decided to announce its digital event Ubisoft Forward.
The event is set for July 12th and would be an E3 style conference with exciting game news and most importantly new reveals. Ubisoft has been very open with how Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has come outset for its release later this year. There could be a lot more under their sleeves though. Fans have a hunch that we may be getting a newer For Honor game while others just want a new Rayman and a Prince of Persia.
Prince of Persia itself has been a centre of debate recently with over 8 years old footage revealed just recently and devs talking about how the game was cancelled and the shown video was supposedly the main gameplay inspiration. While all of this might even be pointless banter what’s interesting is that Ubisoft apart from the Assassin’s Creed game have given zero clues.
Having an E3 style conference is definitely huge and would be nothing short of a challenge. Considering how fans weren’t completely happy with the recent Inside Xbox program it’ll be more than just difficult to please fans. Having literally zero experience with such massive scale digital events may prove to be a bigger bite than necessary but game publishers are left with no other choice.
Indeed 2020 has been a more digital year than ever with basically everything being done over the internet we’d be listening closely to what this E3 style event brings to the table. Quite possibly a line of games set for next-generation consoles, we’d have to wait and see.
