Ubisoft Sales Up By 13.5%, New Report Suggests

Ubisoft has gained a lot of ground these past few years. With various titles achieving quality ratings all around while offering a quality experience to enthusiasts Ubisoft is easily one of the best when it comes to video game development. The development studio has more than a few successful franchises under its belt and doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon.

Ubisoft recently has released its 2018-19 sales report marking all the achievements conquered by the studio. The studio managed to reserve two seats on the top 10 best sellers list of 2018 with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey(10th) and Far Cry 5(4th) on the driver’s seat. Moreover, the Tom Clancy gaming community surpassed over 70 million unique players which are an indication of what we could expect in the future. The community is still in its early stages unlike various multiplayer titles and definitely holds the potential to grow and grow clean. Furthermore, esports viewership surged past 205% over the previous year throttled by Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

The esports scene is certainly crowded at this point with veteran titles like CS: GO, Dota 2 and various other games already in the scene not to mention all the Battle Royale games which have surfaced these past few years. As far as sheer numbers are considered, Ubisoft reported net bookings up by 13.5% over the previous year coming in at €1,351.9 million. The growth was basically driven by PC and mobile users which were up by 58.1% and 77.6% respectively. As far as digital net booking is considered, numbers were up by 33.9% to €897.8 million. DLC and various subscription-based activity made up to 38.9%.

Overall, Ubisoft has made definite progress over the previous year and has certainly gained a lot of traction in the mainstream video game market. If they keep the pace like they’ve been doing and keep bringing quality video games to the average consumer then they may soon reach the absolute top. Ubisoft clearly has a ton of franchises up its disposal, with titles like Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six the studio is certainly on the right path.
